# EVcontrol vs FAN Builder

The clearest difference is update cadence: FAN Builder at every 9 months against EVcontrol's every 90 months. FAN Builder also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EVcontrol ships an update every 90 months, FAN Builder every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and August 27, 2026 respectively.
