# Quick Steps vs Recess

The clearest difference is update cadence: Recess at fortnightly against Quick Steps's every 13 months. Quick Steps's advantage is iOS requirement (10.3 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Quick Steps sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Recess sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Quick Steps ships an update every 13 months, Recess fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
