# Philz Coffee vs 5C

The clearest difference is update cadence: 5C at every 3 days against Philz Coffee's every 3 weeks. 5C also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (33% vs 23%). Philz Coffee's advantage is rating (2.4 vs 2.0) and chart position (#195 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Philz Coffee holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Philz Coffee's written reviews are positive against 33% of 5C's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Philz Coffee ships an update every 3 weeks, 5C every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
