# Snow Report & Forecast vs Solshield

The clearest difference is rating: Solshield at 5.0 against Snow Report & Forecast's 4.4. Snow Report & Forecast's advantage is ratings volume (4K vs 3) and chart position (#196 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snow Report & Forecast sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Solshield sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solshield holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snow Report & Forecast has 4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Snow Report & Forecast ships an update every 3 weeks, Solshield fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
