# A Bug's Life vs Ant

The clearest difference is rating: Ant at 4.0 against A Bug's Life's 2.5. Ant also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). A Bug's Life's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (20% vs 0%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. A Bug's Life sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Ant asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ant holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: A Bug's Life has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of A Bug's Life's written reviews are positive against 0% of Ant's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

A Bug's Life ships an update every 3 weeks, Ant every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
