# Journey vs iD

The clearest difference is ads: Journey at none against iD's shown. Journey also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 23 months) and ratings volume (5.1K vs 31). iD's advantage is review sentiment (91% vs 81%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Journey sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and iD sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Journey against 4.5 for iD. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Journey has 5.1K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 81% of Journey's written reviews are positive against 91% of iD's.

Journey ships an update every 8 days, iD every 23 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
