# Pure Web Browser vs Halt

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pure Web Browser at 76% against Halt's 40%. Pure Web Browser also leads on iOS requirement (9.3 vs 12.0). Halt's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pure Web Browser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Halt asks for nothing beyond the download.

Halt holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Halt has 2.2K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Pure Web Browser's written reviews are positive against 40% of Halt's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pure Web Browser ships an update every 3 months, Halt weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
