# Pure Web Browser vs Bro Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pure Web Browser at free with in-app purchases against Bro Browser's subscription. Pure Web Browser also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 15.0). Bro Browser's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pure Web Browser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Bro Browser sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bro Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bro Browser has 1.1K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Pure Web Browser's written reviews are positive against 50% of Bro Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pure Web Browser ships an update every 3 months, Bro Browser fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
