# History Hit vs WatcherTV

The clearest difference is monetization model: History Hit at free with in-app purchases against WatcherTV's subscription. WatcherTV's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. History Hit sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and WatcherTV sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WatcherTV holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.2K and 1.2K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of History Hit's written reviews are positive against 100% of WatcherTV's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
