# TruGreen vs GasTec

The clearest difference is rating: TruGreen at 4.6 against GasTec's 2.6. TruGreen also leads on ratings volume (22K vs 10). GasTec's advantage is review sentiment (20% vs 10%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TruGreen holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TruGreen has 22K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of TruGreen's written reviews are positive against 20% of GasTec's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TruGreen ships an update every 5 weeks, GasTec monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
