# HelloVPN vs Nolog VPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: HelloVPN at 70% against Nolog VPN's 18%. HelloVPN also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Nolog VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HelloVPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Nolog VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nolog VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HelloVPN has 4.2K ratings behind it against 590, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of HelloVPN's written reviews are positive against 18% of Nolog VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HelloVPN ships an update every 3 weeks, Nolog VPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
