# Writing Wizard vs ClasStars

The clearest difference is rating: ClasStars at 5.0 against Writing Wizard's 4.4. ClasStars also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). Writing Wizard's advantage is ratings volume (5.2K vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Writing Wizard sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and ClasStars sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ClasStars holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Writing Wizard has 5.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Writing Wizard ships an update every 4 months, ClasStars every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
