# Writing Wizard vs Alphablocks World

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Writing Wizard at 73% against Alphablocks World's 30%. Writing Wizard also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (5.2K vs 260). Alphablocks World's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Writing Wizard sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Alphablocks World sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Writing Wizard holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Writing Wizard has 5.2K ratings behind it against 260, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Writing Wizard's written reviews are positive against 30% of Alphablocks World's.

Writing Wizard ships an update every 4 months, Alphablocks World fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
