# PMP Certification vs PMP Exam Prep

The clearest difference is rating: PMP Exam Prep at 4.2 against PMP Certification's 1.0. PMP Exam Prep also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 25 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). PMP Certification's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (33% vs 0%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PMP Exam Prep sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. PMP Certification asks for nothing beyond the download.

PMP Exam Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PMP Exam Prep has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of PMP Certification's written reviews are positive against 0% of PMP Exam Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PMP Certification ships an update every 25 months, PMP Exam Prep every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
