# MyAdvent vs Birthday Countdown

The clearest difference is rating: Birthday Countdown at 4.8 against MyAdvent's 3.8. Birthday Countdown also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (8K vs 10). MyAdvent's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyAdvent sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Birthday Countdown sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Birthday Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Birthday Countdown has 8K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 52% of MyAdvent's written reviews are positive against 74% of Birthday Countdown's.

MyAdvent ships an update every 3 months, Birthday Countdown every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
