# GoPoop vs Water Tracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Water Tracker at free with in-app purchases against GoPoop's subscription. Water Tracker also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). GoPoop's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GoPoop sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Water Tracker sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Water Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Water Tracker has 3.7K ratings behind it against 338, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of GoPoop's written reviews are positive against 72% of Water Tracker's.

GoPoop ships an update every 3 months, Water Tracker weekly. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
