# Summit Reader vs 开卷阅读

The clearest difference is ads: 开卷阅读 at none against Summit Reader's shown. 开卷阅读 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Summit Reader's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 44). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Summit Reader sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and 开卷阅读 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Summit Reader against 4.7 for 开卷阅读. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Summit Reader has 1.3K ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Summit Reader's written reviews are positive against 89% of 开卷阅读's.

Summit Reader ships an update every 3 weeks, 开卷阅读 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
