# Defender VPN vs Blink VPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Blink VPN at 100% against Defender VPN's 0%. Blink VPN also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 18 months). Defender VPN's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (43 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Defender VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Blink VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Defender VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Defender VPN has 43 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Defender VPN's written reviews are positive against 100% of Blink VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Defender VPN ships an update every 18 months, Blink VPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
