# Defender VPN vs North Plus VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Defender VPN at 4.3 against North Plus VPN's 1.0. Defender VPN also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (43 vs 1). North Plus VPN's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 18 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Defender VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and North Plus VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Defender VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Defender VPN has 43 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 0% and 0% positive.

Defender VPN ships an update every 18 months, North Plus VPN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
