# Zencam Security vs Smart Security Camera App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Zencam Security at none against Smart Security Camera App's 3. Zencam Security also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). Smart Security Camera App's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 3). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Security Camera App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Zencam Security asks for nothing beyond the download.

Zencam Security holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Security Camera App has 2.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Zencam Security's written reviews are positive against 25% of Smart Security Camera App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Zencam Security ships an update every 4 months, Smart Security Camera App every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
