# mydlink vs UniFi Design

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: UniFi Design at none against mydlink's 10. UniFi Design also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). mydlink's advantage is ratings volume (45K vs 7) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. mydlink sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. UniFi Design asks for nothing beyond the download.

UniFi Design holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: mydlink has 45K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 24% and 23% positive.

mydlink ships an update every 3 months, UniFi Design fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
