# Stand Down vs STAIR Coach

Stand Down and STAIR Coach both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Stand Down's written reviews are positive against 50% of STAIR Coach's. Stand Down also leads on update cadence (every 7 months vs every 29 months). STAIR Coach's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stand Down sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. STAIR Coach asks for nothing beyond the download.

STAIR Coach holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Stand Down's written reviews are positive against 50% of STAIR Coach's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stand Down ships an update every 7 months, STAIR Coach every 29 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
