# OLEDX vs MeterJournal

The clearest difference is update cadence: MeterJournal at every 4 months against OLEDX's every 10 months. OLEDX's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OLEDX sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MeterJournal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OLEDX ships an update every 10 months, MeterJournal every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
