# Brightly Lights vs BlueHopper

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BlueHopper at 77% against Brightly Lights's 50%. BlueHopper also leads on ratings volume (382 vs 2). Brightly Lights's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Brightly Lights holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlueHopper has 382 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Brightly Lights's written reviews are positive against 77% of BlueHopper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brightly Lights ships an update every 2 months, BlueHopper every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
