# LogBook Evident vs aPass Resident

The clearest difference is rating: LogBook Evident at 4.3 against aPass Resident's 3.0. LogBook Evident also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). aPass Resident's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LogBook Evident holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LogBook Evident has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of LogBook Evident's written reviews are positive against 100% of aPass Resident's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
