# SignUpGenius vs AthleteRated

The clearest difference is rating: AthleteRated at 3.0 against SignUpGenius's 1.3. AthleteRated also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). SignUpGenius's advantage is ratings volume (156 vs 6). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AthleteRated holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SignUpGenius has 156 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 2% of SignUpGenius's written reviews are positive against 0% of AthleteRated's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SignUpGenius ships an update every 4 months, AthleteRated fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
