# Scanner PDF vs ScanMe

Scanner PDF and ScanMe both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 59% of ScanMe's written reviews are positive against 32% of Scanner PDF's. ScanMe also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Scanner PDF's advantage is ratings volume (20K vs 184). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanner PDF sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and ScanMe sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Scanner PDF against 4.5 for ScanMe. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scanner PDF has 20K ratings behind it against 184, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 32% of Scanner PDF's written reviews are positive against 59% of ScanMe's.

Scanner PDF ships an update every 3 months, ScanMe every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
