# Stepwising vs Genetic Algorithms

The clearest difference is update cadence: Genetic Algorithms at every 7 months against Stepwising's every 15 months. Genetic Algorithms also leads on device support (3 vs 1). Stepwising's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Stepwising ships an update every 15 months, Genetic Algorithms every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
