# Joplin vs Superlist

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Joplin at none against Superlist's 15. Joplin also leads on review sentiment (66% vs 48%). Superlist's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Superlist sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month. Joplin asks for nothing beyond the download.

Superlist holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 479 and 461 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Joplin's written reviews are positive against 48% of Superlist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Joplin ships an update monthly, Superlist every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
