# Newbook vs DONNE

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Newbook at 89% against DONNE's 14%. Newbook also leads on rating (4.5 vs 2.4) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Newbook sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and DONNE sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Newbook holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Newbook has 782 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of Newbook's written reviews are positive against 14% of DONNE's.

Newbook ships an update monthly, DONNE fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
