# Lighting Check vs SignalGen31

The clearest difference is update cadence: SignalGen31 at every 2 months against Lighting Check's every 5 months. SignalGen31 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lighting Check sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SignalGen31 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lighting Check ships an update every 5 months, SignalGen31 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
