# NoCatch VPN vs Smart DNS Proxy

The clearest difference is rating: NoCatch VPN at 4.5 against Smart DNS Proxy's 3.1. NoCatch VPN also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 28). Smart DNS Proxy's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoCatch VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per 3 months and Smart DNS Proxy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoCatch VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoCatch VPN has 1.3K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of NoCatch VPN's written reviews are positive against 31% of Smart DNS Proxy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NoCatch VPN ships an update every 2 months, Smart DNS Proxy monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
