# Famous™ vs Rim Chat

The clearest difference is monetization model: Rim Chat at free against Famous™'s ad-supported. Famous™'s advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Famous™ against 5.0 for Rim Chat. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Famous™ has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Famous™ ships an update every 3 days, Rim Chat every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
