# Planet Squirrel vs Sqube Darkness

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Planet Squirrel at 100% against Sqube Darkness's 36%. Planet Squirrel also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10). Sqube Darkness's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.7) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 22 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sqube Darkness sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Planet Squirrel asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sqube Darkness holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sqube Darkness has 32K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Planet Squirrel's written reviews are positive against 36% of Sqube Darkness's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Planet Squirrel ships an update every 22 months, Sqube Darkness every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
