# ASU Special Events vs Anote

The clearest difference is rating: Anote at 5.0 against ASU Special Events's 3.1. ASU Special Events's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Anote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ASU Special Events has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ASU Special Events ships an update every 4 months, Anote every 6 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
