# Catholic Confession vs Shrive

The clearest difference is rating: Shrive at 5.0 against Catholic Confession's 4.0. Shrive also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months). Catholic Confession's advantage is ratings volume (114 vs 5) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shrive holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0.
