# dp vs Sanborns

The clearest difference is rating: Sanborns at 4.7 against dp's 4.0. Sanborns also leads on ratings volume (141 vs 2). dp's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sanborns holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sanborns has 141 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of dp's written reviews are positive against 0% of Sanborns's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

dp ships an update every 3 weeks, Sanborns monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
