# Flash Express vs English

The clearest difference is rating: English at 4.3 against Flash Express's 2.3. Flash Express's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 15 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

English holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Flash Express's written reviews are positive against 0% of English's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flash Express ships an update every 11 days, English every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
