# GPS Format Converter vs Hangar

The clearest difference is price: Hangar at Free against GPS Format Converter's $0.99. Hangar also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). GPS Format Converter's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Hangar is free to download; GPS Format Converter costs $0.99 up front. Hangar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. GPS Format Converter asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hangar holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hangar has 1.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of GPS Format Converter's written reviews are positive against 64% of Hangar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Format Converter ships an update every 3 months, Hangar every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
