# Neighbor vs ChkM8

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ChkM8 at 83% against Neighbor's 35%. ChkM8 also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Neighbor's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (13K vs 13). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Neighbor holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Neighbor has 13K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Neighbor's written reviews are positive against 83% of ChkM8's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
