# Neighbor vs Holonote

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Holonote at 91% against Neighbor's 35%. Holonote also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Neighbor's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 11) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Neighbor holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Neighbor has 13K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Neighbor's written reviews are positive against 91% of Holonote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Neighbor ships an update every 2 weeks, Holonote weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
