# The Istrys vs Match Cube 3D

The clearest difference is review sentiment: The Istrys at 51% against Match Cube 3D's 0%. The Istrys also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (739 vs 6). Match Cube 3D's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Istrys sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Match Cube 3D sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Match Cube 3D holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Istrys has 739 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of The Istrys's written reviews are positive against 0% of Match Cube 3D's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Istrys ships an update monthly, Match Cube 3D every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
