# Sparkage vs Scheels

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Scheels at 14K against Sparkage's 23. Scheels also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). Sparkage's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 58%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Sparkage against 4.9 for Scheels. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scheels has 14K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Sparkage's written reviews are positive against 58% of Scheels's.

Sparkage ships an update monthly, Scheels every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
