# Learn recorder vs Prodigies

The clearest difference is update cadence: Prodigies at monthly against Learn recorder's every 5 months. Prodigies also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (337 vs 63). Learn recorder's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn recorder sells 13 one-off in-app purchases and Prodigies sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Prodigies holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prodigies has 337 ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Learn recorder's written reviews are positive against 82% of Prodigies's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learn recorder ships an update every 5 months, Prodigies monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
