# KNote vs PrepScanner

The clearest difference is monetization model: PrepScanner at freemium against KNote's subscription. KNote's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KNote sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year and PrepScanner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

KNote ships an update every 10 days, PrepScanner every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
