# IAB Events vs CommerceNext

The clearest difference is ads: CommerceNext at none against IAB Events's shown. CommerceNext also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). IAB Events's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for IAB Events against 5.0 for CommerceNext. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IAB Events has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IAB Events ships an update monthly, CommerceNext every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
