# Hex vs Hex*

The clearest difference is price: Hex* at Free against Hex's $0.99. Hex* also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Hex's advantage is ratings volume (185 vs 1) and device support. On in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Hex* is free to download; Hex costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
