# AR Apps vs PortalGate

The clearest difference is rating: AR Apps at 4.4 against PortalGate's 3.7. AR Apps also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (629 vs 6). PortalGate's advantage is review sentiment (44% vs 29%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PortalGate sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. AR Apps asks for nothing beyond the download.

AR Apps holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AR Apps has 629 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of AR Apps's written reviews are positive against 44% of PortalGate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
