# Writemator vs KTrunk

The clearest difference is price: KTrunk at Free against Writemator's $2.99. KTrunk also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.0). Writemator's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). On review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

KTrunk is free to download; Writemator costs $2.99 up front. KTrunk sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Writemator asks for nothing beyond the download.

KTrunk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Writemator has 58 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Writemator's written reviews are positive against 50% of KTrunk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Writemator ships an update every 6 days, KTrunk monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 3, 2026 and June 4, 2026 respectively.
