# Writemator vs Typewrite

The clearest difference is rating: Typewrite at 4.8 against Writemator's 4.0. Typewrite also leads on price ($1.99 vs $2.99). Writemator's advantage is ratings volume (58 vs 4) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Writemator costs $2.99 and Typewrite $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Typewrite holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Writemator has 58 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Writemator's written reviews are positive against 50% of Typewrite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
